There’s a lot of excitement around Disney’s new Star Wars hotel. Since well before the opening date of March 1, 2022, guests have been asking how to book reservations for the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience. Below we tell you more about Disney’s live-action, role-playing entertainment experience, what it costs to stay here, and how to book your 2-night immersive adventure on this galaxy far, far away.

When Can Guests Book Reservations for Disney’s Star Wars Hotel?

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser made its first voyage at Disney World in March 2022.

While some Galactic Starcruiser guests receive priority bookings (Disney Vacation Club members, Disney Passholders, and Disney Visa Cardholders), general bookings for the newest round of availability — stays occurring through December 2023 — opened to public guests on March 7, 2023.

This is sure to be a Star Wars resort experience unlike anything ever seen before and guests from around the globe will be eager to get their reservations as soon as they are eligible to purchase tickets.

Ways to Book Disney’s Star Wars Hotel

The two main ways to book Disney’s Star Wars resort:

  1. Book the resort stay yourself, either through Disney’s website or some other booking website.
  2. Plan and book your Disney Star Wars vacation with the assistance of an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.

The first option is fine if you feel confident enough to book your adventure on your own. You can do your own research and planning, and book all of your own reservations at Disney’s resorts.

We recommend the second option for most guests at Disney’s parks.

The best way to book Disney’s Star Wars hotel is by working with someone who specializes in Disney destinations and parks. We recommend The Vacationeer.

Here’s why we think this is the best way to book your Walt Disney World resort and park visit.

Why Use an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner to Book your Trip

Authorized Disney Vacation Planners (like those at The Vacationeer) are experts on all things Walt Disney World and graduates of the College of Disney Knowledge program. Therefore,  you can be assured that your personal travel agent is well-trained – and hyper-focused – on Disney destinations and parks. They’ll be able to answer all your questions about Disney’s entertainment and give well-informed recommendations, like how to get the most out of your tickets and park visit. Most Authorized Disney Vacation Planners visit Disney World more than once per year, so they have personal experience and stay up-to-date on the rides, tickets, restaurants, entertainment options, and hotels.

Your Disney travel agent can book all aspects of your Disney experience, including your dining reservations, theme park tickets, Disney Genie+ passes, and your Star Wars hotel stay. This can be time-consuming and frustrating so it’s a huge plus if a Walt Disney expert handles everything for you.

They will also make sure you get the lowest possible rates for your tickets and tell you if there are any discounts on Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser Hotel. If a lower rate for your adventure becomes available AFTER you’ve already booked your trip, your Disney vacation planner will go back and rebook your trip so that you get the new low rate for your tickets and park visit.

Your dedicated Disney vacation planner can even set up a no-interest rate payment plan so you don’t need to pay for your Walt Disney trip all at once.

The best part of your Star Wars story adventure? You get all of Disney’s benefits at no extra cost to you! That’s right – the services of an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner are totally free! You’ll never pay a commission to use their services, and you’ll never pay more than if you had booked your trip directly through Disney’s own website.

There’s really no downside to utilizing the services of an experienced Disney travel agent to plan your Star Wars vacation.

How Much Does Disney’s Star Wars Hotel Cost?

Disney’s Star Wars hotel is a groundbreaking achievement and ushers in a new class of luxury travel. The experience could be described as an immersive theater sleepover party. All this entertainment does come with a pretty steep price tag.

A family of 4 can expect to pay around $5999 ($749 per guest per night) to book a standard Star Wars cabin. It will be closer to $5299 ($1209 per guest per night) for a party of 3 or $4809 ($889 per guest per night) if you are a party of 2 adults.

The cost varies depending on the size of your room, the size of your party, the time of year (summer tickets will be more expensive), and even the day you go to Walt Disney World.

Here are the different types of Star Wars resort cabins you can choose from:

Grand Captain Suite
Galaxy Class Suite

What’s Included in a Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Vacation Package?

Every vacation package for Disney’s Star Wars hotel includes a 2-night stay (cabin or suite), meals (alcoholic and specialty beverages are not included), and entry to Star Wars Galaxy Edge (and the rest of Disney Hollywood Studios) for an excursion to Batuu. Disney’s vacation package also lets you live out your Star Wars story through exciting activities, exclusive entertainment, and engaging missions. So even though the price is somewhat steep, you get a lot for the money.

Have a car? Valet parking at the Star Wars resort is included in the price of your tickets.

Steps to Booking a Star Wars Hotel Vacation

Word on the street is Disney is swamped with calls about booking a Star Wars hotel experience. As we said before, we’d recommend contacting The Vacationeer to help you get a leg-up on the Walt Disney World booking process. They can help you with all of the steps below and make sure everything is done correctly. If you decided to go it alone, here are a few steps to plan and book your 2-night Star Wars experience.

Get Ready for Your Voyage

These are the steps you should complete before you arrive at Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Terminal.

1. Link your Disney Reservations with your My Disney Experience Account

Be sure to link your Walt Disney World reservations to your My Disney Experience account (online or on the mobile device app). This process may already be done for you, automatically, if you’ve used the same email address for your My Disney Experience account and when you booked your Walt Disney World experience.

2. Complete the online check-in before you arrive

Complete the online check-in service before you arrive at Disney’s Star Wars resort. You can check-in to the Galactic Cruiser on your mobile device. This will expedite your boarding at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser terminal.

3. Download the Disney Parks App

The Star Wars: Datapad makes the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser really easy to navigate. Be sure you have downloaded the Play Disney Parks app on your mobile device before arriving at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Terminal. You can access the Star Wars: Datapad experience from the app.

Sign in to the Play Disney Parks app 30 days prior to your experience and you’ll be able to access your adventure itinerary details via the Star Wars: Datapad.

4. Reserve Additional Activities before your voyage

If you wish to participate in the Additional activities and entertainment available for your adventure, be sure to inform The Vacationeer or a Disney Galactic Starcruiser Specialist before your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser adventure begins.

5. Confirm the names on your reservation

Guests will receive their databands (Earthlings know them as MagicBands) when they arrive at Disney’s resort. Although you will not need to order your databands in advance, you should still look over your My Plans information and make sure that the names on your resort reservation are correct (so your databands are correct). Contact The Vacationeer or your Galactic Starcruiser Specialist immediately if you spot any incorrect information in your bookings and tickets.

6. Review the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser costume guidelines

Disney allows guests to dress up in costume during your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser adventure. Review Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser costume guidelines here.

Packing List for your Star Wars Adventure

What do you pack when you’re heading to a galaxy far, far away? As with any Florida vacation, pack hot weather and cool weather clothing – especially Star Wars galaxy attire. For a starter, comfort is key to your Star Wars experience. You will be on your feet for most of the day so bring comfortable shoes for walking long hours.

  • Several changes of clothing for warm and cool weather
  • Any Star Wars items you may want with you
  • Photo ID or passport
  • Camera and accessories
  • Cell Phones, iPads, laptops, electronics
  • Chargers for your devices
  • Medicines
  • Toiletries
  • Contact lenses, glasses, sunglasses
  • Sunscreen and hats
  • Rain jacket or windbreaker
  • Comfortable walking shoes

Of course, you might want to go all-out and dress in themed clothing that reminds you of your favorite Star Wars character — or just generally makes you “look the part” for your adventure. We have an article dedicated exclusively for how to dress up for Galactic Starcruiser.
