Unofficial Airport Shuttles
Galveston Express offers a third-party option which serves IAH and HOU airports, along with hotels on Galveston Island. Shuttle transportation from Houston to Galveston is available seven days a week between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. This shared shuttle transportation starts at around $40 per person (one-way), with senior and child discounts available.

Many cruise travelers prefer to arrive in town at least one day early to guard against missing the ship due to flight delays or heavy traffic. - Houston Airport Marriott at George Bush Intercontinental is a great option for those simply flying in the day before their cruise, or whose return flight leaves the day after disembarkation. It is located within IAH airport, approximately 70 miles from cruise terminal. Transfers to the port are available for purchase (see Official Disney Shuttles above).
- The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center is located on 30 acres of beachfront property near downtown Galveston, offering stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. The hotel is approximately 3 miles away from the port.
- Hilton Galveston Island Resort is just steps away from the beach and is within walking distance of historic Seawall Boulevard’s restaurants, shops and attractions. It offers free transportation to the cruise terminal, approximately 4.5 miles away.

- The historic Tremont House Hotel (approximately 0.5 mile from cruise terminal) stands out with its rich history and its terrific location in the heart of downtown Galveston.
- Harbor House Hotel & Marina at Pier 21 (approximately 0.5 mile from cruise terminal) offers well-appointed rooms overlooking the bay and excellent proximity to cruise ports, shopping, and dining.
- For those looking for an option with modern amenities, the Grand Galvez, Wingate by Wyndham Galveston East Beach, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Galveston Beach, and Clarion Pointe Galveston Seawall are excellent hotels near Port Galveston. They each offer a range of accommodations and are just steps away from shopping, dining, bars, and – most importantly – your Disney cruise ship waiting for you at Port Galveston.
