Disney World reopening plans continue to evolve on a day-to-day basis. Today, we have new updates to share from Disney!

On Thursday evening (5/28), Walt Disney World Resort announced some big changes that will affect all vacations booked through the end of 2020. We will go through Disney’s new updates below.

How Disney World will Reopen?

As we have mentioned before, Disney is targeting July 11 as the opening date for Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Park, and July 15th for the reopening of Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

But there’s more.

Here are the newest changes in store, as highlighted by Disney officials:

  • Park hours have changed
  • Extra Magic Hours have been suspended
  • Only a limited number of Disney resorts will be open during this stretch
  • All guests are required to make their reservations in advance for entry into the theme parks (this new reservation system is still being implemented – more details to follow)
  • Disney is canceling all existing dining reservations & experience bookings. This includes canceling Disney Dining Plans through the end of 2020
  • A limited number of dining and experience bookings will reopen as we get closer to the time when the parks reopen
  • The booking window for dining reservations shifts from a 180-day window to now a 60-day window
  • FastPass+ reservations will be suspended
  • All existing FastPass+ selections will be canceled automatically
