Picking a Sandals resort is the fun part. Picking the room is where most couples get stuck. Sandals room categories come with long names like “Bamboo Grove One-Bedroom SkyPool Butler Suite.” On top of that, every resort mixes in its own village names, views, and service levels.

Here’s the good news. Every room at every Sandals fits into one of three service levels. Once you know those, the rest of the name starts to make sense. In fact, your room choice affects your price far more than the resort does. At almost every Sandals, entry-level rooms run $200 to $400 per person, per night. Yet the top suites at that same resort can cost $1,800 or more.

That’s why we built our free Sandals Room Category Finder. It matches you with the right level and suite style in about two minutes. Below it, we cover what each category includes, when Butler is worth it, and where to find the signature suites.

Find Your Sandals Room Category in 2 Minutes

Answer 10 quick questions about your budget, your travel style, and the features you’d love. The finder then matches you with one of the Sandals room categories: Luxury, Club Level, Butler Elite, or a Love Nest Suite. It also shows which resorts offer your favorite room styles.

Prices in the finder are approximate starting rates per person, per night, for 2026 and 2027 travel. Sandals changes its room lineup often, especially at resorts with new “Sandals 2.0” makeovers. That’s why we recommend treating your result as a starting point, not a final booking.

How Sandals Room Categories Work

Sandals sorts every room and suite into three service levels: Sandals Luxury, Club Level, and Butler Elite. A fourth name, Love Nest Suites, covers the most private Butler suites. Everything else in a room name simply describes the location, the view, or a special feature.

Some things stay the same across all Sandals room categories. Every level includes unlimited dining, premium drinks, water sports, Wi-Fi, airport transfers, and gratuities. As a result, plenty of couples are perfectly happy in an entry-level room. Prices, however, can vary a lot from one level to the next. Our breakdown of how much Sandals Resorts cost shows the full range at every resort.

Sandals Luxury Level

Luxury is the entry level, but it’s anything but basic. You get the same restaurants, bars, pools, and beach as every other guest. Your minibar also comes stocked with water, soda, juice, local beer, and Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wine.

On an affordable trip to Sandals Ochi, my wife and I stayed in a Great House room. It was comfortable and well-appointed. If you’ll spend your days on the beach and your nights at dinner, Luxury Level is usually the smartest value. It’s also the category to focus on if you’re hunting for the cheapest Sandals resort.

Club Level (Club Sandals)

Club Level is the upgrade most couples consider first. The biggest perk is free room service from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., so breakfast on your balcony is always an option.

You’ll also get:

  • Private check-in at the Club Sandals Lounge
  • Lounge access from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with snacks, pastries, and coffee
  • A Club Sandals Concierge to book dinners, spa treatments, and tours
  • An in-room bar stocked with a selection of liquors

Club Level matters for weddings, too. Sandals’ free wedding package requires a stay of seven nights or more in a Club or Butler suite.

Butler Elite Level

Butler Elite is where a Sandals vacation starts to feel completely different. Your butler, trained by the Guild of Professional English Butlers, greets you on arrival and checks you in from your suite. You’ll also get a phone to reach your butler anytime during your stay.

Butlers can bring meals and cocktails from any restaurant or bar to your suite, the pool, or the beach. In addition, Butler guests get 24-hour room service and a bar stocked with premium liquors and sparkling wine. Select suites even include private airport transfers.

There’s one budget detail to remember. Butlers are among the few staff members you can tip at Sandals. Our guide to tipping at Sandals Resorts explains what’s typical.

Love Nest Suites

Love Nest Suites are Sandals’ most private Butler suites. They come with the same Butler inclusions, plus standout design and spa-style bathrooms with free-standing tubs and rain showers. Sandals’ famous Rondoval Suites, Millionaire Suites, SkyPool Suites, and Over-the-Water Bungalows all fall into this group. It’s no surprise they’re honeymoon favorites. Our guide to the best Sandals resorts for honeymoons highlights the top honeymoon room types at our top picks.

Club Level vs. Butler: Which Is Worth It?

This is the question we hear most from couples comparing Sandals room categories. Both levels make your vacation easier, but they work very differently.

Club Level is helpful, but you still do the asking. You walk to the lounge, call for room service, and book reservations through the concierge. Butler service, on the other hand, is proactive. Your butler learns what you like and takes care of it before you think to ask.

Choose Club Level if:

  • You’ll spend most of the day at the beach or pool
  • You want room service and a quiet lounge without the Butler price
  • You’re booking seven or more nights and want the free wedding package

Choose Butler Elite if:

  • You’re celebrating a honeymoon or milestone anniversary
  • You have your heart set on a private pool, SkyPool, Rondoval, or overwater villa
  • You love the idea of cocktails delivered to your beach chair

Here’s one more tip. A Club Level room at the right resort often beats a Butler suite at the wrong one. So pick the resort that fits your style first. Our guide to the best Sandals vacation for every couple’s style can help with that part.

Sandals Suite Styles Explained

Once you know your service level, you can start shopping for the fun extras. These are the signature room styles you’ll see across Sandals room categories, along with where to find each one.

Swim-Up Suites

Swim-up suites open onto a private patio that steps right into a pool. Sandals offers them at about a dozen resorts, including Negril, Grenada, Royal Curaçao, and both Barbados properties. Some come at Club Level. That makes them one of the easier ways to land a wow-factor room without paying for a butler.

SkyPool Suites

SkyPool Suites have a private infinity-edge plunge pool on an upper-floor balcony with ocean views. You’ll find them at Sandals Grenada, Royal Barbados, Negril, Dunn’s River, and Saint Vincent. New SkyPool Suites are also debuting at Sandals Caribbean Cay. For example, the Bamboo Grove SkyPool Butler Suites at Sandals Negril started at $710 per person, per night in April 2026.

Rondoval Suites

Rondovals are standalone round villas with cone-shaped roofs, and they’re about as private as Sandals gets. Look for them at Dunn’s River, South Coast, Grande St. Lucian, Royal Barbados, Grenada, and Grande Antigua, where the concept started. Sandals Saint Vincent also offers 20 new Rondoval Butler Villas with private pools.

Some resorts put their own spin on the design. South Coast introduced the first swim-up Rondovals, while Dunn’s River offers Rondovals with rooftop terraces for stargazing.

Over-the-Water Villas and Bungalows

These are the bucket-list rooms, with glass floor panels, soaking tubs for two, and direct access to the water. Sandals offers them at Grande St. Lucian, South Coast, Caribbean Cay, and Saint Vincent, where the villas are two stories tall.

Expect the highest prices in the brand. At Grande St. Lucian, the Overwater Honeymoon Butler Bungalows started at $2,022 per person, per night in April 2026. Also, note that Sandals Caribbean Cay is the new name for Sandals Royal Caribbean. Our Sandals Royal Caribbean review covers the resort’s private island and overwater villas.

Millionaire Suites

Millionaire Suites are large, high-end Butler suites, often with private pools or sweeping bluff-top views. You’ll find them at Sandals Regency La Toc in Saint Lucia, Montego Bay, Negril, and Royal Barbados.

Villas and Rooms for Friends

Traveling with another couple? Sandals Ochi offers villas with four one-bedroom Butler suites around a shared private pool. Sandals Royal Plantation has the three-bedroom Villa Plantana. Meanwhile, Sandals South Coast now offers the brand’s first Beachfront Club Two Queen Junior Suites for friends sharing a room.

If you’re bringing kids, keep in mind that Sandals is adults-only. Our Sandals vs. Beaches comparison explains the family-friendly alternative.

Room styles as of October 2026. Sandals adds and renames suites often, so confirm availability for your dates.

Two resorts break the usual pattern. Sandals Royal Plantation is all-butler, so every suite comes with a butler. Sandals Royal Barbados is all-suite, with every room at Club Level or higher.

That makes Royal Plantation an interesting shortcut. If Butler service is your goal, its entry-level suites started at $352 per person, per night in April 2026. That’s often less than a Butler suite at a larger resort.

How to Read a Sandals Room Name

Sandals room names look long, but they follow a simple pattern. Take the Bamboo Grove One-Bedroom SkyPool Butler Suite at Sandals Negril:

  • Bamboo Grove is the village or building
  • One-Bedroom is the size and layout
  • SkyPool is the signature feature
  • Butler Suite is the service level

You’ll also see a few other words again and again. Beachfront means steps from the sand, and Oceanview means you’ll see the water. Walkout usually means a ground-floor room with a patio you can step out onto. Finally, a Tranquility Soaking Tub is a tub for two on your patio or balcony.

Tips for Choosing Your Sandals Room

  • Book signature suites early. Overwater villas, SkyPools, and Rondovals are limited, and they often sell out first.
  • Check the walking. Hillside resorts like Dunn’s River and Royal Plantation involve more stairs. Ochi’s hillside rooms often rely on a shuttle to reach the beach.
  • Match the room to how you’ll use it. If you won’t spend much time inside, put that money toward a better resort or a longer stay.
  • Time your trip. The same room can cost far less in the low season. Check the best time to go to Sandals before you pick dates.
  • Stack the savings. Sandals runs frequent promotions, and our list of ways to save money on Sandals shows how to combine them.
  • Consider the newly renovated resorts. Sandals South Coast, Sandals Montego Bay, and Sandals Caribbean Cay each got a major “Sandals 2.0” makeover with brand-new room categories. Our guide to the best Sandals resorts in Jamaica has the latest details.

Sandals Room Categories FAQ

What are the three Sandals room categories?

The three Sandals room categories are Sandals Luxury, Club Level, and Butler Elite. Love Nest Suites are the most private Butler Elite suites, so they share the same inclusions.

Is Club Level at Sandals worth it?

For many couples, yes. Club Level adds room service, a private lounge, and concierge help for a much smaller jump than Butler. It also qualifies you for the free wedding package on stays of seven nights or more.

Do all Sandals resorts have Butler suites?

Yes. Every Sandals resort offers Butler suites, and Sandals Royal Plantation is entirely Butler level.

Which Sandals resorts have overwater bungalows?

Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals South Coast, Sandals Caribbean Cay, and Sandals Saint Vincent all offer over-the-water accommodations.

Can you upgrade your Sandals room later?

Often, yes, if a higher category is still available. However, signature suites sell out quickly, so it’s safer to book the room you really want from the start.

Ready to Book Your Sandals Room?

Choosing between Sandals room categories really comes down to how you like to vacation. Beach-all-day couples usually get the best value at Luxury or Club Level. Honeymooners and milestone travelers, on the other hand, rarely regret a Butler suite. Either way, each of the best Sandals resorts offers rooms at several price points, so you can usually find one that fits.

Because room names and prices change so often, it helps to have an expert compare them for you. That’s where booking Sandals with a travel agent like The Vacationeer makes a real difference. When you book with The Vacationeer, you’ll get:
