If you are traveling with a large family or group to Disney World, you might consider booking a family suite. Generally, these suites have separate bedrooms and living areas and are more spacious than standard hotel rooms. If you have small children, this can be helpful, as they can sleep in their own space while you remain in the living room.

Selecting a suitable Disney World family suite will depend on your priorities: price, size, amenities, proximity to parks, or something else. Fortunately, many of Disney’s resort hotels offer suites, so you’ll have plenty of choices. Keep reading to see our ranking of the best family suites at Disney World to help you decide.

The Coronado Springs resort is enormous, beautiful, and modern, and it offers a wide variety of suites that can accommodate large groups, including family reunions and business meetings. If you wish to hold a meeting or celebration at the resort, it offers a variety of conference rooms for rent.

As one of the Disney Moderate Resorts, Coronado Springs straddles the line between affordability and luxury. These suites aren’t the best value for a family vacation since they can be more expensive than multiple standard rooms. However, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – and its new Gran Destino Tower – provide beautiful and modern accommodations, so it may be worth considering if you don’t mind venturing outside the Value category.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the best Disney World resorts for families. While the suites are more expensive than other Disney World resorts, they are worth the price for the scenery and theming alone.

The lodge is relatively isolated from other theme parks despite being near Animal Kingdom. It’s a downside, but it shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. Families that don’t mind paying extra for a magical experience at Disney World will love the family suites at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Best Resort for Large Disney World Suites

Are the suites at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort right for your family?

Polynesian Village offers some of the largest family suites at Disney World. Additionally, the resort is close to the Magic Kingdom theme park and has a monorail stop (along with the Contemporary and Grand Floridan). No, you won’t be able to walk to Magic Kingdom, but who needs it when you have a monorail stop?

The resort also has some of the best restaurants and pools at Walt Disney World. The Polynesian Bungalows are another unique option, but we think those are better suited for honeymoons at Disney World rather than family vacations.

If you want extra space and are willing to pay a premium to stay in a tropical paradise, a family suite at the Polynesian Village Resort is ideal.

Best Luxury Suites for Large Families or Groups

Deluxe Villas (at Various Disney Resorts)

A Deluxe Villa can be a good choice for those who need lots of space for their family or group and don’t mind paying a premium for luxury.

DVC members and regular guests can rent villas at 11 resorts on Disney property. The resorts include Animal Kingdom Lodge, Bay Lake Tower, Beach Club, BoardWalk, Boulder Ridge, Copper Creek, Grand Floridian, Old Key West, Polynesian, Riviera, and Saratoga Springs.

Disney’s deluxe villas offer one, two, and three-bedroom units that accommodate up to 12 guests. These include a full kitchen (oven/cooktop, full-sized fridge, sink, dishwasher, microwave, pots/pans, dishes, & silverware) as well as a clothes washer/dryer, plus a common living area such as a living room beyond the individual bedrooms. There are also smaller villas, called studios, which include a kitchenette (no oven/cooktop/dishwasher) and access to a communal laundry room. Or, opt for unique units such as Treehouse Villas, over-the-water bungalows, or waterfront cabins.

The Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is our top pick. The Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are part of Disney Vacation Club, and they offer ample space, with 2-Bedroom Villas sleeping up to eight people. A full kitchen is in the room if you wish to prepare meals yourself. Guests can access Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort’s onsite amenities, including pools, restaurants, and a children’s activity center.

Another luxurious option is Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, offering up to three-bedroom villas. With incredible views, monorail transportation, and easy access to Magic Kingdom, the villas offer everything you could want if money isn’t an issue, but proximity to Magic Kingdom is essential.
